3 LCHS Football Players Sign with Fort Scott

NJCAA 2010 Runner-up, the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds

The Labette County High School Athletic Department is proud to announce that 3 Grizzly Football standouts signed National Letters of Intent with NJCAA 2010 Runner-up, the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds on Wednesday Feb. 3, 2010.

 

1,000 yard rusher and all purpose back, Davey Brown, son of James and Tammy Brown of rural Mound Valley, will join teammates Brannon Green and Jordan Hills at Fort Scott next Fall. During his Senior season, Davey was chosen as the Fox 14 Player of the Week for his efforts in the LCHS victory over Coffeyville. Davey plans to pursue a degree in education.

 

 

2010 Shrine Bowler, Brannon Green, son of Ed and Lori Green of Altamont, will line up at the tight end position for Coach Horton's Greyhounds. Green, the most prolific pass receiver in LCHS school history, collected 35 receptions for 475 yards, 2 touchdowns and 4 - 2 point conversions, during his senior season. Defensively, he recorded 99 solo tackles from his inside Linebacker spot along with 47 assists. Green is a 2x All-SEK Conference and 2 x All State selection in football.  In basketball, as a junior he earned All-SEK Conference and All State Honors as well. Green has been chosen to play in the 2010 Kansas Shrine Bowl. He will play for the East Squad under the direction of Topeka Hayden High School Head Coach, Bill Arnold. The Shrine Bowl will be played at PSU's Carnie Smith Stadium on July 31, 2010. Brannon will pursue a degree in secondary education.

 

Offensive and Defensive Lineman, Jordan Hills completes the list of football Grizzlies headed to NJCAA powerhouse, Fort Scott. Jordan is the son of Leon and Camilia Hills of rural Coffeyville. Hills anchored the center of Coach Craig Hartman's defensive line at LCHS. Jordan is an active part of the LCHS Powerlifting Squad. He plans to pursue a degree in secondary education.
